Wednesday Update

Hi guys,

Hope your week has been good. I can’t believe we are already in July. Where has the year gone? When I look back at the past six month, I can’t help being a bit frustrated at myself and the time I wasted. But it’s in the past. I am reading a great book called “Dear Writer, you need to quit’ and it’s helping me see where I went wrong with myself and my writing in the past year. Now I am getting back on track and the structure I am getting thanks to the new job is really helping. The weather here is changing and my mood is changing with it. But today was warm and sunny and it helped, a lot.

Writing update: I finally sorted Thibault and Jack’s book, weaving in the mystery parts to fit with the romance plot. Wouhou. I started writing today one of the scenes with the two of them and I am so happy. Once this book is finished it will need quite a bit of rework/added details but the romance part is much better than in the first version I had. It feels so much like the two men I discovered in book 1, instead of trying to fit them into the mold of what I thought their story should go.

I made some progress on Sam’s book, and after a moment of panic about Marcus and his love interest and how to rework that to fit after book 2, I realised that their story should happen before book 2 even starts. So I will add my notes tomorrow to the book before continuing with that story. Then I'll just need to make sure it ties to book 2 in terms of events.

So, the going is good. I still have no clue when any of them will be ready but I am now back on track.

Reading update: When checking my goodreads and the books I put in last week's post, I had a moment of shock and wonder. I read nothing. You read that right. I started reading the second book after ‘claimed by the orc’ but haven’t finished it yet. It’s a great book but I might have spoiled myself (something I unfortunately do often) and read quickly what was happening next, so I am letting it rest. Since then, I haven’t read, except for ‘Dear writer, you need to quit’ (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07N36MHWD). Today I jumped into Charlie Cochet’s latest release ‘Sleight of hands’ (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B096SZPRS8) and I am almost done, but that’s it.

I am off work until this weekend when I will only work on Saturday afternoon and I plan to write the rest of the time. Hope I get to read in the evenings.
